Rare floor lamp (sold)
circa 1940

Wrought iron with its original black patina. Gilded (restored). This floor lamp is on a quadrapod base. At each end, a coiling. Flattened balls with a gilded patina for the end-leg. In the upper part of the bole, a decorative overflowing element with a gilded patina. This one is top with a shell-shaped element. To conceal the socket, a last ornementation with a corolla shape elivens the bole. This decorative repertoire is characteristic of Gilbert Poillerat’s style. He especially loves the ‘Grand Style’ and updates it in the 40’s by stylising and summerizing the ornamentation. The elegance of this floor lamp, as its perfect quality and the beautiful patina are the proof of the metal-worker talent.
