Rare pair of ‘mermaid’ armchairs
Circa 1942-1944

Each armchair presents a structure in French polish natural beech tree. The high straight back is extended by two arms covered with purple woolen sheet presenting at their end sculpted mermaids. The back and the seat are also covered with purple woolen sheet. This model of armchair has been designed by André Arbus between 1942 and 1944. The sculpted mermaids at the ends of the two arms have been sculpted by Henry Parayre.
