Max Ingrand (1908-1969)
«Micro» floor lamp, model 2020, Fontana Arte edition
Blackered metal and gilded brass base and boile - Two glass pebbles, with sandblasted glass in the center. Original brass switch, stamped «Fontana Italy». This luminous sculpture is characteristic of the Fontana Arte’s production. Max Ingrand becames artistic director of this firm created in 1932 by Gio Ponti, in 1954. Referenced under the number 2020, there are other versions of this floor lamp. It also exists as ceiling lamp and wall lamp. The two glass pebbles, cutted with chisel, are sandblasted in the middle. As always, Max Ingrand demonstrates ingenuisity with the glass which concentrates or spreads the light. This material is like a luminous filter and permits variations.
