Line Vautrin (1913-1997)

Very rare pair of mirrors
circa 1960

Beige talosel circular structure, gilded mirrors linked to each other with patintaed brass rods. Signature « Line Vautrin » and stamp «ROI» on the back of each mirror. These two mirrors are composed of a double beige talosel ring entirely striated, holding a small convex mirrored glass. Two patinated brass rods are going up and down, each punctuated with round and oval beige talosel sequins encrusted with gilded mirrors, decreasing in size. The talosel is totally striated on the back. Former restorations. This delicate pair of mirrors, never seen on the market until now, charm with their simplicity: a double talosel ring, two brass rods and some gilded mirrors sequins are enough to give them a luminous and elegant aspect, corresponding to Line Vautrin’s work.

Height : 44,4 cm (17 1⁄2 in) and 46,4 cm (18 1⁄4 in) - Width : 10 cm (4 in) and 11 cm (4 1⁄4 in)

Provenance :
This mirror has been bought directly from Line Vautrin by Mr. and Mrs. B, Paris region.
The Galerie Chastel-Marechal acquired it from the family of these collectors.
