Line Vautrin (1913-1997)

Rare "Perruque" mirror (sold)
circa 1965

This rare mirror is composed of an oval frame in patinated tortie color talosel. The upper part of the frame is decorated with small parts of copper-colored and gilded mirrors linked to each other with thin metal sticks. It is rare to find an oval convex mirrored glass on this model, this form being more delicate to make than a round one. Signed ‘Line Vautrin’ and stamp ‘ROI’ on the back. This model, rare on the art market, is part of the unusual mirrors made by Line Vautrin. The constellation of small mirrors, harmoniously spread around the frame, is again the proof of the talent of this creator to make very delicate and poetic objects.
